Hike to Cahill Cabin

Hike to remnants of the Cahill cabin and a bootlegging whiskey still. Learn about some park history and nature on this 5 mile, moderate hike.

About this Event

The Cahill Cabin, built in the early 1920s was home to two Cahill brothers, Lester and John. The two brothers ran a dairy barn near the cabin. To make ends meet they also operated illegal bootlegging whiskey stills and were notorious cattle and horse thieves.

Hike 5 miles to see what remains of the Cahill brothers' history while admiring the natural features of the park.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and sunscreen.

Meet at Grouse Mountain trailhead.
