Full Moon Program & Hike
Ready to become cosmic explorers? Join us at the Staunton State Park Visitor Center to learn about the moons of our solar system and spy on our marvelous moon through a high powered telescope. If you are feeling up for it, lace up your boots after the program for a family- friendly full moon hike around Davis Ponds Trail. Red flashlights and/or headlamps are allowed and encouraged to preserve our natural night vision, and to do our part in respecting nocturnal wildlife. Please remember to wear a sturdy pair of boots or shoes, and bring layers. All ages welcome. Park’s pass required.

Fly Fishing Clinic

Ever wanted to give fly fishing a try but didn't know where to start? Are you new to fly fishing and looking for some tips to help you catch more fish? Then, this is the class for you! Learn all the basics from rod/reel set up, basic knots, casting, presentations, and types or flies. Valid Colorado fishing license required for anglers ages 16 & up.

Learn to fish at Staunton State Park with CPW staff and volunteers. All equipment will be provided if you don't have your own. Clinic will be held at the Davis Ponds between 9am and 1pm. Park pass fees apply and fishing licenses are required for anyone 16 or older.
