Star Party at Jackson Lake!
The Northern Colorado Astro Society will bring out their telescopes and share their knowledge while they point towards stars, planets , and galaxies through out the night during an informal star gazing gathering.
About this Event
Join us right as the sun goes down to see what blinks into sight or wait till later and catch a glimpse of something new.
Walk up/Drive up. this is event is open to everyone! - Red Lights Encouraged!
Event is Free with Parks Pass.
Location Details:
North View Campground : Site 241
Driving : Drive into the main entrance of the Park.
- Take the paved road past Pelican Campground.
- Turn LEFT on the dirt road ( before the Marina Parking lot)
- Follow the dirt road all the way to North View Campground.
_ Parking is Located Infront of the Vault Toilet or at the FAR END
of the Campground. (Try as best you can to be mindful of lights)
Walking: Park or head to the Marina Parking lot .Take the trail that meanders next to the lake, through sandpiper and fox hill campground and up to North View Campground.
Remember to Light your Site NOT the Night!
Turn off any Outdoor lights when they no longer needed.
It takes our eyes time to adjust to the dark and give us a better viewing of the night sky.
