Intro to Orienteering
Our introductory orienteering course is for anyone not familiar with map and compass. Join us at the Limekiln trailhead area for a brief lesson in navigation.
About this Event
Introduction to orienteering is an outdoor class that consists of a lesson and a time set to test out your newfound skills. The class is meant for anyone curious about compass based navigation, typically beginners. Materials for navigation will be included. Course material will include basic compass skills, interpreting maps, reading a landscape and understanding navigation terms. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please be prepared for outdoor learning, with appropriate clothing, sunscreen and water.
Audience: Ages 7+
Dogs not permitted
Fee: Park entry fee required
Time duration: 1-1.5 hours
