3rd Annual Pumpkin Hike!
Take a walk at night along a trail lined with carved pumpkins.
About this Event
We're excited for the 3rd annual Pumpkin Hike at Mueller!
Pumpkins carved by park staff, volunteers and community members will line a 1/4 mile of the Wapiti Trail. Hike the trail to see the imaginative vegetable art and vote for your favorite at the Visitor Center. The pumpkin with the most votes will receive a prize!
Pumpkins must be family friendly; no political or religious content. If you'd like to submit a pumpkin for the trail you can drop off carved pumpkins at the park Visitor Center at these times:
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 9am-7pm
Thursday, Oct. 15, 7am-4pm
Friday, Oct. 16, 9am-4pm
Bring a flashlight or headlamp and dress in layers...or in costume!
Stop in the Visitor Center to learn about owls with Nature's Educators who are bringing live feathered friends to the event. There will also be a 1 mile hike about nocturnal animals, a Halloween story time, and hot chocolate.
This event will be based at the Visitor Center and Wapiti Trailhead. If the Visitor Center parking lot fills up you can park at nearby Outlook Ridge, Preachers Hollow or Bootlegger lots and walk to the event area.
The Visitor Center will be open for restrooms, drinking fountain and auditorium only. The store and registers will not be open. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available at this location.
Dogs are not allowed on the trails or inside the Visitor Center.
This event is free with a park pass. If you need to purchase a park pass and arrive after 4pm you will need to use the self serve station located at the big sign on your right after entering the park. Bring cash or check $10 for CO registration and $15 for out of state.
