Management and Conservation

With the broad scope and scale of conservation, especially in an area with natural resources as abundant as Colorado’s, plenty of tools for prioritization and efficiency are necessary. Colorado Parks and Wildlife implements various conservation principles in formulating our proactive approach.

CPW's conservation team is dedicated to taking a proactive approach to wildlife conservation. Through practices like monitoring and land use management, we set the stage for wildlife populations that do not require lengthy reintroduction or rehabilitation processes.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is a member of the Swift Fox Conservation Team formed in 1994. The Swift Fox Conservation Team (SFCT) worked cooperatively on swift fox management and conservation by assembling new biological data and implementing monitoring and management programs.
