Wolf Stakeholder Advisory Group

The Stakeholder Advisory Group provided a range of viewpoints from diverse geographic areas of the state and proposed considerations for the plans developed by the Technical Working Group. To support openness and transparency, all meetings of the group were open to public observation in person. And public comment opportunities were offered at meetings. Blue Heron Reservoir

Variety angling in a single park, each pond really has something different to offer. Exceptional for families and new anglers and great ice fishing. Park staff is quite incredible with a breadth of fishing knowledge. Blue Heron Reservoir has excellent largemouth bass, great for walleye/saugeye, channel catfish, crappie, and redear sunfish. This is the largest water on the park and trailered boats can launch.

Walk-in Access Program

WIA properties are open for hunting from the fall into the spring every year. WIA properties can only be accessed on foot. Some WIA properties will be open for both small game, waterfowl, furbearers, and big game, while other properties will remain small game, waterfowl, and furbearers only.

Pelican Pond at St. Vrain State Park

Pelican Pond spans the whole northeastern corner of St. Vrain State Park between I-25 and St. Vrain Creek.

Spinney Mountain State Park

The view of the Collegiate Peaks is spectacular. The mountain air is clean and fresh. The birds and wildlife are abundant. But it’s the fishing that makes Spinney Mountain a special place. Built along the South Platte River in South Park, this day-use-only park offers Gold Medal fishing waters, yielding trophy-sized cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout and northern pike.

Limited licenses that weren't issued in the primary or secondary draws go on the Leftover List. Reissued licenses also go onto the list. These are available for purchase in person, online or at sales agents.
