What’s available at Mancos
Open to the public year-round, Mancos offers basic campsites best suited for tent campers as well as yurts, all nestled in a ponderosa pine forest with views of Jackson Gulch Reservoir. Some campsites and restrooms are ADA accessible. There are no electrical hook-ups at Mancos.

Yurts are round tents on a wooden frame with circular skylights and windows to provide illumination. Nestled in a pine forest, Mancos’s two cozy yurts are comfortable year-round thanks to ceiling fans and insulated walls. Reservations are required.

Yurts provide a unique and cozy camping experience. The yurts at Mancos let you immerse yourself in nature, surrounded by some of the comforts of home.
32 Campsites
A reservation is required to camp at Mancos State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made for campsites and yurts online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date. Visitors are required to display a vehicle pass and have a valid reservation.
Whether you’re camping in a tent or yurt, Mancos’s campgrounds offer amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Amenities include:
When you camp at Mancos State Park, check-in time is 1 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 12 p.m. (noon) on the day of departure. A reservation is necessary, and camping is allowed only in designated areas. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 28-day period. A maximum of six people, and one *camping unit (one trailer/RV plus one tent, or two tents) is allowed per individual site.
Parking on vegetation may result in a fine. Please do not tie anything, including hammocks, to the trees.
*A “camping unit” is two tents and a passenger vehicle; or one tent plus one motor home, motor vehicle, vehicle, trailer, slide-in truck camper, pop-up camper/trailer, boat, or other equipment of any description manufactured and/or used for the purposes of overnight occupancy. A camping unit may include additional tents only in a campsite with a tent pad; provided the tents are contained on the pad and other camping unit and camping group limits are observed. One passenger vehicle in addition to the above descriptions is authorized only if available parking space exists.
All pets must be under control and on a maximum six-foot leash at all times, and not attached to any park signs, trees, shrubs or hydrants. Pets may not be left unattended, and pet owners must promptly clean up after their pets. Pets are permitted in yurts with a $10 pet fee.
Winter is a great time to enjoy activities in the park such as ice fishing, cross-country skiing, sledding and snowshoeing. Mancos is centrally located to make a good base for daily outings to Mesa Verde, Durango and the nearby San Juan National Forest. During the winter months, the west campground is closed, but several campsites in the upper loop of the main campground remain open.
Yurts and campsites must be reserved year-round at Mancos.

YURTS
Yurts offer a comfortable way to enjoy the outdoors and are a unique alternative to tent or RV camping. Mancos has two yurts, each with a screened skylight, windows, one twin-sized bunk, a queen size futon and a queen size bed. You can drive right up to your yurt.
Yurt amenities: Guests should bring their own bedding and cookware. Smoking is not allowed in the yurts, and cooking indoors is discouraged.
Yurts can accommodate up to six people. Each yurt has one twin-size bunk bed, one queen-size futon and one queen size bed. All of the beds have mattresses but no bedding. Visitors will need to bring bedding, such as sleeping bags and/or sheets, blankets and pillows.
The yurts are also equipped with a propane gas heater, electrical outlets, a ceiling light and fan and a picnic table outdoors. There is a small refrigerator, but guests should bring a cooler for larger items.
Pets are permitted in the yurts for a fee of $10 per night (not per pet). Pets must be kept leashed when outside of the yurt.
Yurts are available by reservation year-round.
