Whether you are an avid hiker, mountain biker or hunter, or you simply appreciate all the Colorado outdoors has to offer, there are many ways you can get involved. Colorado state parks have a variety of employment and volunteer opportunities. Jobs include naturalists and maintenance and administrative work, and range from full to part time and temporary. Volunteer opportunities include wildlife monitoring and campground host. Check out the opportunities below for more information.

Volunteer

Entrance Gate Attendant

Assist the park's Visitor Services Section by serving in the entrance station(s), selling passes and permits, dispensing information and answering questions.

Special Projects

Write and develop outdoor interpretive signs. Recruit other volunteers. Photograph or video park programs, special events, visitors or resources. Assist in planning volunteer recognition or social events. Provide equipment, donated funds, or expertise on special projects and more.

Trail Work

Assist with design, construction and maintenance of park trails. Serve as crew member or crew leader on trail construction, renovation and maintenance. Design or install trail signage. Participate in prearranged trail or maintenance days.

Vacation Volunteer Host

Come volunteer for a weekend in exchange for a free campsite at State Forest State Park! Help keep State Forest beautiful by cleaning and restocking restrooms in exchange for a free, full hook-up stay. Anyone is welcome to apply (individuals, couples, families or friends).
