Waking to a high-country morning in the comfort of a cabin nestled in a forest of aspen trees or along the shores of a high-mountain lake can become a reality with cabins at Colorado state parks. Cabins vary from rustic camper cabins to more luxurious cabins with indoor plumbing, bathrooms and kitchens. All cabins require a minimum two-night stay.
Lakeside Cabins
There is nothing like staying just steps away from a lake, whether you want to fish, boat or just enjoy the gentle lapping of water on the shore. These cabins offer all of the adventure of staying at a Colorado state park with the added benefit of being waterfront.
Steamboat Lake State Park
Clark, Colorado
Steamboat Lake State Park offers cozy camper cabins that provide simple necessities and incredible views. Similar to a wooden tent — but with heat — furnishings are rustic, with either log or built-in beds, a small refrigerator, and a picnic table and firepit outside. Three of the cabins are just across the campground road from the lake.
Sylvan Lake State Park
Eagle, Colorado
Sylvan Lake State Park has cabins with stunning views of the lake and high peaks. Rustic camper cabins are located just a few yards from Sylvan Lake and include front patios to enjoy the view. A premium cabin with three bedrooms, a kitchen and an indoor bathroom is also just a few steps away from the lake.
State Forest State Park
Walden, Colorado
State Forest State Park offers cabins in a variety of locations around the park from forest to meadow, with rustic cabins lining the shore of North Michigan Reservoir. In addition to the rustic cabins that sleep up to four people, the large cabins are perfect for groups, sleeping up to 21 people.

Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Golden, Colorado
In addition to the camper cabins nestled among the aspens, Golden Gate Canyon has a classic ranch house with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a full kitchen. While pets are not allowed at the guest house, it does have a corral that can accommodate up to 20 horses.
Navajo State Park
Arboles, Colorado
Navajo State Park has log cabins that are fully furnished with many of the conveniences of home, including restrooms with showers, heating in the winter, cooling in the summer, kitchen utensils, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. All cabins also have an outside picnic table and fire ring with a grill where you can enjoy the wildlife and views of the reservoir.
Cheyenne Mountain State Park
Colorado Springs, Colorado
Cheyenne Mountain State Park has cabins surrounded by scrub oak that have easy access to trails and the disc golf course. Cabins sleep six and are ADA accessible, providing universally accessible entrances, bathrooms and kitchen facilities.
Mueller State Park
Divide, Colorado
Mueller State Park boasts premium cabins with stunning views of the forest and surrounding mountains. The cabins sleep four to eight people with multiple bedrooms, indoor bathrooms and full kitchens. All cabins have cozy fireplaces inside and private decks with stunning surroundings outside.

Sylvan Lake State Park
Eagle, Colorado
Sylvan Lake State Park has small, rustic cabins that sleep up to six people. The cabins have heat, solar lighting and decks with views of the surrounding peaks, and several cabins have views of the lake. In addition to the rustic cabins, there is a three-bedroom cabin with indoor plumbing and a full kitchen that overlooks the lake.
Vega State Park
Collbran, Colorado
Vega State Park's rustic cabins serve as a great jumping-off point for exploring the top of the Grand Mesa National Forest or recreating at Vega Reservoir. The cabins sleep six and have corrals adjacent to them — so bring your horse! Three of the cabins also allow pets.
Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Golden, Colorado
Golden Gate Canyon State Park has rustic camper cabins nestled among aspen groves that sleep six and have lights, heat, and a grill and campfire ring outside. They are ideally located for exploring the park's many tree-lined trails. Four of the cabins allow pets for a small fee. There is also a historic ranch house with indoor plumbing and a full kitchen.
