Camping at Island Acres  

​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Island Acres section​ is just east of Palisade at exit 47 from Interstate 70. Nestled along the Colorado River in Debeque Canyon, Island Acres offers opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing and swimming.

Camping Reservations

  • ​Reservations can be made the day you plan to arrive at the park or up to six months in advance.
  • Camping reservations can be made online for Island Acres, or by calling 1-800-244-5613.

Campers at Island Acres enjoy:

  • Full hook-up or electric hook-up sites.  All electric sites are 30 amps.  All full hook-up sites are 30 amps except sites 61, 62, 79 and 80 which are 50 amps. 

  • Tent camping sites.

  • All campsites have fire rings, picnic tables and stand up grills. 

  • Showers and laundry are available from early spring through fall.

  • A spectacular backdrop of the surrounding canyon walls and maybe even a glimpse of wild horses or Big Horn sheep.

  • Three fishing lakes, two of which are stocked​.

  • A fourth lake, the "Swimmin' Hole," with a sandy beach and natural lake swimming.

  • Two playgrounds.

Interstate Information

First time visitors should be aware the campground is located adjacent to the Interstate and train tracks. View the Island Acres campground map. However, most folks tune out any noise and enjoy the scenery.
