What’s available at Rifle Gap
Rifle Gap State Park has five campgrounds, providing 89 campsites spread out along the north shore of the reservoir. Sites can accommodate tents, motorhomes and RVs. All campgrounds have restrooms, and most have coin-operated showers located in the center of the campground. To get the most out of your camping adventure, reserve your spot early because sites fill quickly.

Rifle Gap’s walk-in tent sites are nestled among pinyon and juniper trees, providing some privacy. They include covered picnic tables and fire pits.
Reserve a Campsite
89 Campsites
A reservation is required to camp at Rifle Gap State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date. Visitors are required to display a vehicle pass and have a valid reservation.

When you camp at Rifle Gap State Park, check-in time is 1 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 12 p.m. (noon) on the day of departure. A reservation is necessary, and camping is allowed only in designated areas. Please do not park on the vegetation or off the roadway. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 28-day period. A maximum of six people are allowed per campsite.
Leashed pets are allowed at campsites. All pets must be under control and on a maximum six-foot leash at all times, and not attached to any park signs, trees, shrubs or hydrants. Pets may not be left unattended, and pet owners must promptly clean up after their pets.
