Mountain Base Road Closed for Winter -

To get up to the campgrounds or any trailheads off of Gap road, please go 4 miles west on HWY 46 to the intersection of HWY 119. Head North for 3 miles and turn right onto Gap road. 

Construction Project -

Golden Gate Canyon State Park will be undergoing a construction project throughout 2025. Please expect construction traffic and associated noise in Reverend's Ridge Campground and The Works Ranch. Construction can be active from 7am-6pm Monday through Friday and refunds will not be processed for construction related noise.

What’s available at Golden Gate Canyon

Open to the public year-round, Golden Gate Canyon offers camping, cabins, and yurts. Full hook-up camping and more rugged backcountry experiences are available. Cabins and yurts can accommodate up to six people, and have electric lights and natural gas heating.

The cabins, nestled between lush aspen groves and pine-covered hills, accommodate a maximum of six people. The cabins have two bunk beds, one twin-size and one double-size. Outside each cabin is a campfire ring and a stand-up grill for cooking.

Escape to nature in Golden Gate Canyon’s yurts

Yurts are round tents on a wooden frame with circular skylights and windows to provide illumination. Each yurt at Golden Gate Canyon accommodates up to six people with two bunk beds (twin and double) with mattresses. Outside, a campfire ring and grill await.

A reservation is required to camp at Golden Gate Canyon State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made for campsites, yurts and cabins online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date. Visitors are required to display a vehicle pass and have a valid reservation.

Cabins and yurts offer a comfortable way to enjoy the outdoors. Cabins and yurts accommodate a maximum of six people. Golden Gate has ADA-accessible and pet-friendly options. There is a minimum stay of two nights.
