Whether you are an avid hiker, mountain biker, or hunter, or you simply appreciate all the Colorado outdoors has to offer, there are many ways you can get involved. Colorado state parks have a variety of employment and volunteer opportunities. Jobs include naturalists and maintenance and administrative work and range, from full to part time and temporary. Volunteer

Campground Office Assistant

Campground Office Assistant

Position is for Reverend's Ridge Campground office. Responsibilities consist of selling passes, giving out park information and general customer service. Light cleaning as well as a flexible schedule are required. Ideally, volunteers are able to fill in when needed and help out with campfire programs and spur-of-the-moment interpretative programs for families in the campground. The focus will be on pass sales as well as reservation check ins. This is not a host position. A camping spot is NOT provided for this position.

Naturalist

Present park interpretive programs, such as campfire talks, nature walks, multi-media shows, living history programs and evening programs. Lead school group programs and more.

Park Patrol — Backcountry

Park Patrol — Backcountry

Conduct backcountry patrol via three modes of transportation: horses, hiking or mountain biking. Contact park visitors, check trail conditions, light trail maintenance and clean backcountry campsites.

Special Projects

Special Projects

Projects may include: writing and developing outdoor interpretive signs for self-guiding trails or roadside exhibits; recruiting other volunteers; photographing or video taping park programs, special events, visitors or resources; assisting in planning volunteer recognition or social events; training other volunteers; providing equipment, donated funds or expertise on special projects, and/or designing and creating puppets, historical costumes and more.
