What’s available at John Martin Reservoir

Open year-round, the park’s two campgrounds accommodate RVs, motor homes, trailers, campers and tents. Amenities include a camper services building open April 1 to October 31 with flush restrooms, a laundry room and coin-operated shower facilities. Group camping is available at the Caddoa Shelter. Reservations are required.

The Lake Hasty area has parking spaces and campsites that are accessible for people with disabilities. Restrooms, showers, picnic tables, drinking fountains and grills are also accessible.

Reserve a Campsite

A reservation is required to camp at John Martin Reservoir State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date. Visitors are required to display a vehicle pass and have a valid reservation.

Know Before You Go

    Whether you’re camping in a tent or RV, John Martin Reservoir’s campsites offer amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Amenities include:

    When you camp at John Martin Reservoir State Park, check-in time is 1 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 12 p.m. (noon) on the day of departure. A reservation is necessary, and camping is allowed only in designated areas. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 28-day period. A maximum of six people, two motorized vehicles and only one camping unit is allowed per individual site. Please do not tie anything, including hammocks, to the trees.

    Leashed pets are allowed in campgrounds. All pets must be under control and on a maximum six-foot leash at all times, and not attached to any park signs, trees, shrubs or hydrants. Pets may not be left unattended, and pet owners must promptly clean up after their pets. 

    Camping is available year-round. At the Lake Hasty campground, 51 sites remain open year-round with electrical hook-ups (20, 30 and 50 amp) at each of the sites. The camper services building is closed from November 1 to March 31, and the comfort station is open April 13 to September 30. In the Point Campground, sites 242 to 279 are open year-round. Water at centralized hydrants remains on all year.
