Camping and Lodging

Stay at Ridgway State Park

Ridgway State Park offers diverse camping experiences across three main campgrounds: Dakota Terraces, Elk Ridge, and Pa-Co-Chu-Puk, all equipped with camper service buildings, including showers, flush restrooms, and seasonal laundry facilities. For a unique  glamping experience, three cozy yurts are available year-round. The Eddy Group Campground in Pa-Co-Chu-Puk is ideal for groups. 

Winter camping is available in selected loops in Elk Ridge and Dakota Terraces, with plowed, reservable sites and heated shower and restroom facilities, providing a cozy snowy retreat.

What’s available at Ridgway

Ridgway State Park offers year-round camping with 282 sites for RVs, trailers, campers and motor homes, including ADA-accessible (only reservable by phone) and walk-in options. For a more secluded experience, choose from 25 walk-in tent sites. 

Dakota Terraces and Elk Ridge campgrounds provide 30-amp electric hookups, an RV dump station, and shared water, with Elk Ridge also featuring scenic walk-in tent sites. Pa-Co-Chu-Puk, by the Uncompahgre River, boasts full hookup 50 amp sites and walk-in tent sites.

The Eddy Group Campground in Pa-Co-Chu-Puk is ideal for groups, featuring 15 50-amp campsites, a large tent area, a unique hammock stand, a full kitchen, ADA facilities, and a large pavilion with BBQ grills and a fire ring.

Even in winter, selected campground loops remain open with plowed and shoveled, reservable sites, heated restrooms with showers, and a year-round RV dump station, providing a serene snowy escape.

Escape to nature in Ridgway’s yurts.

Yurts are round tents on a wooden frame with circular skylights and windows to provide illumination. The three yurts at Ridgway include heated amenities, kitchenettes, outdoor grilling areas, and furnishings for up to six guests, with pet-friendly options. Reservations are required and are available year-round.

Reserve a Campsite or Yurt

A reservation is required to camp at Ridgway State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made for campsites and yurts online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Note: Accessible campsites are available and must be reserved by phone at 1-800-244-5613.

Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date. Visitors are required to display a vehicle pass and have a valid reservation. 

Know Before You Go

    Whether you’re camping in a tent or yurt, Ridgway’s campgrounds offer amenities to make your stay more comfortable. 

    Amenities include:

    • ADA-accessible campsite
    • Electric and water hook-ups
    • Flush Restrooms
    • Coin-operated showers and laundry facilities (summer only)
    • Dump station
    • Water
    • Playgrounds

    When you camp at Ridgway State Park, check-in time is 1:00 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the day of departure. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.. A reservation is necessary, and camping is allowed only in designated areas. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 28-day period. A maximum of six people, two motorized vehicles and only one camping unit is allowed per individual site. Please do not tie or hang anything from the trees.

    All pets must be under control and on a maximum six-foot leash at all times, and not attached to any park signs, trees, shrubs or hydrants. Pets may not be left unattended, and pet owners must promptly clean up after their pets.

    During winter (November to March), 48 RV sites and 15 walk-in tent sites are available. Three yurts, including a universally accessible one, remain open year-round.

    Know Before You Go

      Yurts can accommodate up to six people. All of the beds have mattresses but no bedding. Visitors will need to bring bedding, such as sleeping bags and/or sheets, blankets and pillows.

      • Coin-operated shower and laundry facilities (Memorial Day through Labor day)
      • Electric heat and propane power

      Yurt reservations require a minimum stay of two nights. When you stay at Ridgway State Park, check-in time is 1 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 12 p.m. (noon) on the day of departure. A reservation is necessary. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 28-day period. A maximum of six people are allowed per individual site. Please do not tie or hang anything from the trees.

These sites are designed with accessibility in mind, providing features like accessible restrooms, shower buildings, picnic tables, and BBQs, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay amidst the park's beautiful natural setting.
