Volunteer
Bluebird Monitoring
For those with an interest and familiarity of birds, volunteers will monitor bluebird house/nesting sites located around the park.
Special Projects
Special projects may include writing and developing outdoor interpretive signs. Recruiting other volunteers. Photographing or recording park programs, special events, visitors or resources. Assisting in planning volunteer recognition or social events. Providing equipment, donated funds, or expertise on special projects and more.
Trail Grooming
The Steamboat Lake Snow club grooms the 150 miles of snowmobile trails and 15 kilometers of ski trail in the park; all of the members are volunteers. You must be a member of the Steamboat Lake Snow Club to join this volunteer group.
Winter Wildlife Monitor
Volunteers have the opportunity to document wildlife activity by photographing wildlife and their tracks, and assisting with the trail camera program. Most observations will be documented through iNaturalist, a smartphone application that parks staff will train volunteers to use.
