What’s available at Steamboat Lake

Steamboat Lake State Park offers a range of camping options, from non-electric to electric sites suitable for RVs or tents, though full hook-ups are not provided. Ten rustic cabins are also available. An ADA-accessible campsite is offered, along with water fill stations and a dump station. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance for the period from the Friday before Memorial Day to September 30. Winter camping with electric outlets is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the marina parking lot.

Escape to nature in Steamboat Lake’s cabins.

Ten cozy 12-foot by 12-foot camper cabins nestled among aspens and pines provide a serene mountain retreat, with basic necessities and incredible views. The cabins are heated yet simple. Fire rings and picnic tables make cooking outdoors convenient.  Cabins can only be reserved through the Steamboat Lake Marina.

Reserve a Campsite

A reservation is required to camp at Steamboat Lake State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made for campsites and cabins online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date. Visitors are required to display a vehicle pass and have a valid reservation. Reservations cannot be made at the park.

Know Before You Go

    Whether you’re staying in a tent, RV or cabin, Steamboat Lake offers amenities to make your visit more comfortable. Amenities include:

    • Dump station
    • Water hydrants

    When you camp at Steamboat Lake State Park, check-in time is 1 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 12 p.m. (noon) on the day of departure. A reservation is necessary, and camping is allowed only in designated areas. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 28-day period. A maximum of six people, two motorized vehicles and only one camping unit is allowed per individual site. Parking on vegetation may result in a fine. Please do not tie anything, including hammocks, to the trees.

    Pets are allowed at Steamboat Lake. All pets must be under control and on a maximum six-foot leash at all times, and not attached to any park signs, trees, shrubs or hydrants. Pets may not be left unattended, and pet owners must promptly clean up after their pets. 

    Winter camping (September 30 to the week before Memorial Day) with electric outlets is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the marina parking lot. Campers must be self contained as services and amenities are not available during the winter. A park pass (annual or daily) is required.

      Cabins can accommodate up to six people, depending on the cabin. A two-night minimum stay is required (three-night minimum during holidays). Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 10 a.m. In the summer, camper cabins are drive in. In the winter, the road to the cabins is plowed and appropriate vehicles are recommended. Cabin reservations should be made through the Steamboat Lake Marina

      Pets are allowed with a $25/night per pet fee (limit two pets).
