Suspending Hunting and Fishing Privileges

Only the Parks and Wildlife Commission, and/or a Hearing Officer has the authority to suspend hunting and fishing privileges. The court may impose a suspension – as part of a plea agreement – but that is between the person and the court.

Frantz Lake State Wildlife Area is a top quality fishery in the heart of Salida, CO. Frantz Lake provides an excellent fishing experience for the whole family and also has an ADA access fishing pier. No motorized boating is allowed at the SWA however hand-launched fishing craft such as canoes and kayaks are popular. Frantz Lake boasts excellent rainbow trout fishing year round and is a popular for ice fishing. Anglers at Frantz will also have quality fishing opportunities for smallmouth bass.
