Red Barn Group Picnic Area provides a rustic setting for large get-togethers. This area is equipped with sheltered picnic tables, large charcoal grill, campfire ring, playground, volleyball court, horse shoe pit and vault toilets. Two historic barns, renovated with electrical outlets and lights, cover the tables. Many visitors enjoy using this site for family reunions, office picnics, neighborhood parties, weddings and graduation receptions. No linens or decorations are provided by park, please plan accordingly. Visitors can take in a wonderful view of a nearby open meadow and creek, enjoy the nearby fishing areas and hiking trails. Capacity: Seating for 100 people, no more than 150 allowed at this site.
Times: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Parking: Restricted to 25 vehicles. Carpooling is recommended. $8 entrance fee per vehicle.

The earliest that bookings can be made
is exactly 6 months in advance of the day. Please refer to the table below for corresponding months. Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. The first call that is received 6 months in advance will get the reservation. You may call before the Visitor Center opens and leave a message. If the 6 months in advance happens to fall on a weekend day, please call and leave a message. The staff member that handles reservations is off on the weekends, so a decision will not be made until the following Monday morning. You will receive a call back on Monday letting you know if you got the reservation or not. Payment in full is required to reserve any of our group facilities at Golden Gate.
Red Barn will be open from May through October, but please be aware that inclement weather does not entitle you to a refund, and that late spring snow storms are common in the area.

When can I reserve?
Reservations can be made up to six months in advance to the day of the requested reservation date.
For Dates In
Refunds/Cancellations: No refunds due to inclement weather or firebans. Cancellation fee shall be equal to 25% of the base fee if the cancellation is made 15 or more days prior to reserve date. If the cancellation is made within 14 days of the reserved date then the cancellation fee shall be 100% of the base fee.
