Trail Conditions and Closures
Lory State Park closes trails due to muddy conditions on a regular basis to prevent unnecessary erosion, widening/braiding, and hazardous conditions. COTREX is where you can find the most up-to-date information regarding trail closures and park conditions. Practice Leave No Trace and respect any trail closures to keep Lory’s trails sustainable.
Biking and Horseback Riding
Facilities
Whether you are young or old, a beginner or an advanced rider, Lory State Park has it all when it comes to mountain biking. The park has a jump/pump track offering 69,600 square feet of riding excitement. The old horse corral area has been rebuilt and now hosts dirt jumps, a pump track and a skills area. The Corral Center Mountain Bike Park is open year-round, except for wet and hazardous conditions. Before riding, please read the rules and regulations that will be posted on site.
There is no additional fee to use the mountain bike area.
Our equestrian practice and training course is open year-round for use, and is the only public facility of its kind in the northern Colorado region.
- 10 styles of portable jumps, including log piles, log ramps, log cabins (with faux doors and windows!), bunkers, rolltops, corner jumps, trakehners, beer barrels and picnic tables
- 4 examples of each style in the field course, corresponding to the first four USEA rider levels: Intro (or Beginner), Beginner Novice, Novice and Training — with jump heights ranging from 24 inches to 39 inches.
- Jumps are approachable from both directions, essentially posing over 80 course "questions" for the horse and rider.
There is no additional fee to use the equestrian practice and training course.
