Lory State Park
Enjoy true backcountry camping after a day on the trails at Lory. Campsites are basic and require a minimum two-mile hike to be reached. This is a great way to immerse yourself in the outdoors!

What’s available at Lory
Lory State Park is open year-round for camping. Only backcountry camping is available. Sites are HIKE IN only and not accessible by vehicles. There is no water, restrooms or tent pads at these sites, and fires are prohibited. Small camp stoves are permitted. Everything you will need, including water, must be packed in and out. There is no dispersed camping or vehicle-based camping at Lory State Park. Overnight parking is prohibited at Lory State Park unless lawfully camping at one of the 6 backcountry sites.

Lory State Park offers six backcountry campsites that are only accessible by a minimum two-mile hike.

6 Backcountry Campsites
A reservation is required to camp at Lory State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date. Between the Tuesday after Labor day and the Friday before Memorial day, campsites are only reservable on Friday and Saturday nights. Visitors are required to display a vehicle pass and have a valid reservation.
Lory’s campsites are primitive, but the park offers amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Amenities include:
When you camp at Lory State Park, check-in time is 1 p.m. on the day of arrival and check-out time is 12 p.m. (noon) on the day of departure. A reservation is necessary, and camping is allowed only in designated areas. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 28 day period. A maximum of six people are allowed per campsite. Hammocks are not allowed in order to protect trees from stress and damage.
Leashed pets are allowed at campsites. All pets must be under control and on a maximum six-foot leash at all times, and not attached to any park signs, trees, shrubs, or hydrants. Pets may not be left unattended, and pet owners must promptly clean up after their pets.
