Water Shortage -
Due to drought, the park is experiencing a water shortage. The campground water system is spring fed & running very low. Water spigots, showers & flush toilets have been shut off, but the water in Cabin 1 is still available at this time. It is recommended camper tanks are filled before arriving, however we do have limited potable water available at the Visitor Center, if needed. Contact park staff if you questions. Read more.
Get Involved
Whether you are an avid hiker, mountain biker or hunter, or you simply appreciate all the Colorado outdoors has to offer, there are many ways you can get involved. Colorado state parks have a variety of employment and volunteer opportunities. Jobs include naturalists and maintenance and administrative work, and range from full to part time and temporary. Volunteer opportunities include wildlife monitoring and campground host. Check out the opportunities below for more information.

Volunteer
Campground Host
Campground hosts act as ambassadors to park visitors, provide information, sell firewood, complete campground maintenance including cleaning fire pits and sites, and serve at the Entrance Gate to sell passes and permits.
Maintenance
Assist staff with cabin and toilet cleaning, light maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment.
Visitor Services
Serve in the Visitor Center greeting park visitors, answering phones and sale of park permits and nature education materials. Minor building maintenance may be included, such as cleaning restrooms, carpeted floors and windows.
