No Potable Water -
Due to a water main break, there is currently NO POTABLE WATER at Sylvan Lake State Park. While we are working on getting it repaired, cabin 1, showers, flush toilets, and water spigots are not in operation until further notice. Potable water is available at the visitor center to fill campers and water containers. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please call the park at 970-328-2021 with any questions.
Get Involved
Whether you are an avid hiker, mountain biker or hunter, or you simply appreciate all the Colorado outdoors has to offer, there are many ways you can get involved. Colorado state parks have a variety of employment and volunteer opportunities. Jobs include naturalists and maintenance and administrative work, and range from full to part time and temporary. Volunteer opportunities include wildlife monitoring and campground host. Check out the opportunities below for more information.

Volunteer

Campground Host
Campground hosts act as ambassadors to park visitors, provide information, sell firewood, complete campground maintenance including cleaning fire pits and sites, and serve at the Entrance Gate to sell passes and permits.

Maintenance
Assist staff with cabin and toliet cleaning, light maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment.

Visitor Services
Serve in the Visitor Center greeting park visitors, answering phones and sale of park permits and nature eduation materials. Minor building maintenance may be included, such as cleaning restrooms, carpeted floors and windows.
