Whether you are an avid hiker, mountain biker or hunter, or you simply appreciate all the Colorado outdoors has to offer, there are many ways you can get involved. Colorado state parks have a variety of employment and volunteer opportunities. Jobs include naturalists and maintenance and administrative work, and range from full to part time and temporary. Volunteer opportunities include wildlife monitoring and campground host. Check out the opportunities below for more information.

Every year we hire:
All temporary, YIP internship and full-time jobs are posted directly on the state's career website.
Assist with school groups, large events for all ages and fishing derbies. We have an annual need for assembling, fixing and rigging fishing poles and other equipment maintenance.
Volunteers will monitor bluebird house/nesting sites located around the park.
Common tasks include cleanup and maintenance of the park grounds and facilities; completing special and/or seasonal maintenance tasks as needed; carpentry, remodeling and construction projects; assisting with minor equipment repairs.
Special Projects is open to suggestions for projects and/or assignments that are outside the realm of naturalist work, maintenance details or trails crew: Assist with clerical duties in the Visitor Center; cleaning and organizing the park's facilities; newsletter compilation and editing; and more.

The mission of The Friends is to raise funds to support Park projects, especially those related to education and enhancing the visitor experience, and to promote the preservation of the Park’s resources, history and culture.
The Friends of Mueller State Park have various Art in the Park and other fundraisers throughout the year, request memberships and donations and utilize grant opportunities to support Park programs. Funds raised go directly to Mueller State Park.
