Dragonfly Pond will remain closed until the spring of 2025 due to low water levels following maintenance of the pond.

Pet Access Limited

Pets are allowed in the campsites, picnic areas, and on paved roads. Pets are prohibited on all trails and in the backcountry.

Gathering Space

Amphitheater

The park’s amphitheater is surrounded by aspen and conifer forest and has wonderful views. The amphitheater is available for the summer season only.

  • Up to 100 guests
  • Fees: $30 reservation fee
  • Monday through Friday: $430 per day
  • Saturday or Sunday: $630 per day

Park Capacity and Event Parking

Parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Additional parking is available at Elk Meadow trailhead, Lost Pond and Bootlegger picnic areas. 
  • Shuttling guests to and from additional parking areas is the responsibility of the wedding party. 
  • Parking is prohibited along the roadways.

Special Activity Agreement Forms

Wedding Agreement (PDF)​​​ ​​is required for all rentals. 

  • This form must be filled out, sent in and approved by the park manager before your visit. 

Fees Paid at Time of Reservation

Fees must be paid by check, money order, cash or credit card (American Express not accepted) at the time the reservation is made.

Nearby Trails Access and Scenic Views

Take a stroll along the foot path starting at the Black Bear camping area and continuing past the homestead and several picnic sites to the scenic Outlook Ridge.  Continue further south to the visitor center and have a look at the nature displays and merchandise for sale.
