2024 Major Changes:
No April Season
Since 2014, an April 1-30 lion hunting season has been used as a management tool in units that meet certain criteria. April season unit status is reviewed annually and recommendations are presented and approved by the Wildlife Commission each January. April seasons were closed statewide for 2024. There are no units with an open April 1-30, 2024 season.
Electronic Calls Removed as Legal Method of Take
Electronic calls are now prohibited for use in the taking of mountain lion in all GMUs.
Game Management Unit (GMU) Changes
GMU 43 was split to create a new GMU 431. There are boundary modifications for some GMUs.

Habitat Stamp
All annual licenses purchased for individuals ages 18-64 will have a Habitat Stamp applied at the time of purchase, if required.
