Colorado State Parks Administrative Directive No. B-302
(1995):
"The Division's primary goals are to use vegetation
native to CO for park landscaping, reclamation and restoration projects, when
appropriate; to protect, maintain, restore or enhance the full complement of
CO's native ecosystems occurring within State Parks and Recreation Areas; and to
limit the use of non-native vegetation in State Parks."
Colorado State Parks defines native vegetation as those
plants and plant communities known to occur in Colorado prior to European
settlement beginning in 1840.
Stewardship's Native
Plant Revegetation Prescription was created to assist park staff with
compliance to this Directive.
The Prescription was adapted from
CNAP's Native
Plant Revegetation Guide for Colorado, which contains detailed
recommendations for seed mixes and reveg techniques based
upon the floristic regions of the
state.
