Located in the Heart of the Rockies, Sylvan Lake is a haven for those who enjoy the outdoors. At 8,500 feet in elevation, visitors to Sylvan Lake discover a high mountain scene with aspen, pine and fir forests bordering green, grassy meadows. It is a place to truly get away from it all and reconnect...not even cell phones work at this peaceful park.
Campsite Reservations
Camping at all state parks now requires a reservation.

Individual campsite reservations are available in the Elk Run campground loops May 1 through October 31. Camping in Fisherman's Paradise campground may be reserved year round. Reservations are strongly recommended during this time, especially for weekends, holidays and stays of more than two nights.

There are a total of 44 campsites. Sites accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. There are no individual site hook ups. The camper services building provides coin showers and flush toilets during summer. Water is available. Vault toilets are available year-round.
Each campsite accommodates up to two tents, or one tent and one RV, with a maximum of six people per site and no more than two vehicles. Pets are allowed, but must be on a six-foot leash and all pet litter must be picked up.
Elk Run Campground
Sites 1-34 in Elk Run campground include sites with views of the lake or down the Brush Creek Valley.
Fisherman's Paradise Campground
Sites 35-44 in Fisherman's Paradise campground are sites popular for their vantage point overlooking the lake.
Group Campground
A group campground for up to 60 people is available mid-May through September. It can be reserved up to six months in advance through cpwshop.com.
Cabins & Yurts
Take the roughness out of roughing it. One Large Cabin featuring kitchen & bath or the eight Camper Cabins may be reserved year round. Three yurts overlooking East Brush Creek are available mid-May through mid-November.
