CONSTRUCTION IN 2018
Beginning April 2018, much of the park will be closed to public access for the dam reconstruction project. Forest Road 400 will remain open to access the national forest. For more details and a timline, please see flyer
Located in the Heart of the Rockies, Sylvan Lake is a haven for those who enjoy the outdoors. At 8,500 feet in elevation, visitors to Sylvan Lake discover a high mountain scene with aspen, pine and fir forests bordering green, grassy meadows. It is a place to truly get away from it all and reconnect...not even cell phones work at this peaceful park.

There are a total of 46 campsites. Sites accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. There are no individual site hook ups. The camper services building provides coin showers and flush toilets during summer. Water is available. Vault toilets are available year-round.
Each campsite accommodates up to two tents, or one tent and one RV, with a maximum of six people per site and no more than two vehicles. Pets are allowed, but must be on a 6-foot leash and all pet litter must be picked up.
Elk Run Campground
Sites 1-34 in Elk Run Campground include sites with views of the lake or down the Brush Creek Valley.
Fisherman's Paradise Campground
Sites 35-46 in Fisherman's Paradise Campground are set up for side by side parking. First time visitors should realize you are right next to your neighbor. They are popular for their location overlooking the lake.
A group campground for up to 60 people is available mid-May through September. Please call the Visitor Center at 970-328-2021 starting January 1st for group site reservations.
Individual campsite reservations are available for the nights of May 15 through September 30. Sites may be reserved from 3 to 180 days in advance. Reservations are strongly recommended during this time, especially for weekends, holidays and stays of more than two nights.

Cabins & Yurts
Take the roughness out of roughing it. One Large Cabin featuring kitchen & bath or the eight Camper Cabins may be reserved year round. Three yurts overlooking East Brush Creek are available mid-May through mid-November.
