There is a voluntary angling closure beginning at 12 p.m. daily. Due to elevated temperatures and critically low flows caused by drought conditions, CPW is strongly encouraging anglers to limit fishing on the Yampa River to early morning hours. We hope by removing any additional stress to the fishery, that we can sustain the trout fishery through the current adverse conditions.
Fishing has been steady with reports of sizeable trout being caught. The Yampa River is very low. Rafting and floating recreation on the river is not recommended.
