From Hwy. 24 E of Hartsel, take CR 15 (Elkhorn Rd.) N 15 miles to sign. Go W 1.8 miles to parking area. From Hwy. 285 at Como turnoff, take CR 15 SE 8 miles to sign. Go W 1.8 miles to parking area. Road to parking area not maintained in winter.

In 2002, Reinecker Ridge and Mud Springs SWAs were combined into one property and renamed the James Mark Jones SWA. The name honors Jim Jones, an outstanding Colorado Division of Wildlife employee who passed away in February 1999.
