Location: Elk Springs is located about 20 miles west of Maybell on Hwy 40.

Terrain: The terrain is rolling hills covered with sagebrush and mountain shrub. The ranch is divided east to west by Elk Springs Ridge, with the headwaters of Twelve Mile Gulch draining to the north toward the Yampa River. To the south the North Fork of Sagebrush Creek and several tributaries provide a southern aspect.
Access: Ranch roads provide access to parking areas that allow walk-in access to major areas of the ranch. No ATVs or snowmobiles will be allowed on the property.

Overnight Accommodations: Motels are located in Craig. There is a KOA Campground in Craig.

There are no antler-point restrictions for any of the ranches. No over-the-counter licenses are offered on these properties. Ranching for Wildlife licenses are open to Colorado residents only.
