Always Wear A Personal Flotation Device

All persons swimming within designated whitewater parks and all persons under the age of 13 swimming anywhere in the Arkansas River within the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area must wear a properly fitting U.S. Coast Guard approved wearable personal flotation device (PFD).
PFD loaner stations, where recreators can borrow personal flotation devices free of charge, are located in Buena Vista, Salida, and Cañon City whitewater parks.
