Vega's trails are all non-motorized and open for hiking, cross-country skiing, and snow shoeing only---no horses, bicycles or ATV's are ever permitted on any trails inside Vega State Park.
There are hundreds of miles of trails adjacent to Vega at the Grand Mesa National Forest for OHVs and horseback riding. Snowmobiles or OHVs may be ridden from the OHV staging area and from Vega's Pioneer cabins or the Early Settler's campground to the Grand Mesa National Forest trail system via USFS #262 (AKA: Park Creek Rd.)
Be sure to have a State Park Day or Annual Pass on your vehicle while parked in the OHV lot adjacent to Park Creek Road or anywhere else in the park.
All trails on the park are open at this time.
