The Dixon and Top of the Mountain Trail Info: The first 2.5 miles of the Dixon trail is a multi-use trail open to hikers, bikers, and equestrians. Please be respectful of others and follow the yield triangle of etiquette. Hikers may continue past the 2.5 mile turnaround point. Prepare for a 17+ mile round trip hike, with no pickup points or sources for water along the trail. See the press release and the Dixon trail map for more details.
No dogs are allowed on the Dixon trail. Please refer to the dog trail map to see which trails are dog-friendly.
Trail conditions 5/14: All trails are dry and in good condition.
Please report any downed trees or other unfavorable conditions to the Visitor Center by calling 719-576-2016 x6.
Smoking of any kind is prohibited on the trails.
DOG OWNERS - Dogs are allowed on select trails only. Dogs must be kept on a 6' leash and be cleaned up after. View the Map of Dog Trails.
EQUESTRIAN USERS - Horses are allowed on select trails only. Please visit the Equestrian page for more details. All other trails are strictly closed to horses.
