Campfires are currently allowed in designated fire pits. Charcoal grilling is allowed in the designated grills in the picnic areas and grills brought by visitors in the campground.
Smoking is NEVER allowed on the trails.
Stage I fire restrictions are in place for unicorporated El Paso County... this includes the park. BUT, these current restrictions do NOT impact our current operations. If the restrictions are increased, we may be impacted. Right now, you can still have fires in the park's fire pits and grills, as well as smoke in the designated areas (NEVER the trails).
BE CAREFUL! Conditions are ripe for fire: never leave a fire unattended and be sure to COMPLETELY extinguish the fire before you leave.

Firewood is for sale at the Visitor Center and at the camphost sites in the campgrounds.
Check back often. A fire ban is highly likely this summer.
