  • Cell Phone Coverage

    Because of the location of the park in a canyon, cell reception is limited and spotty. You may be able to get reception at some higher points.

  • Fire Restrictions

    All fires, including open flame and grilling, are restricted to the high-use pads in the picnic area.

  • Fishing Report

    Colorado Fishing Licenses are required and are available for purchase at the park Visitor Center.​ Please call the park office for current conditions.

  • Hunting

    Hunting is allowed in the Crescent Meadows portion of the park south of the Crescent Meadows Trail Tues. after Labor Day- March 31 only.

    Opportunities include: mule deer, wild turkey, blue grouse, and other big and small game species. We only allow primitive weapons, including hand-held bows (no crossbows), shotguns loaded with birdshot, and muzzle-loading rifles (no trapping).

    The appropriate license is necessary depending on what you are hunting, and all Colorado State bag and possession limits apply. Hunting and fishing licenses are on sale at the park Visitor Center.

  • Park Entrance

    The Park is open every day from sunrise to sunset. 

    The entrance station will open daily 9am to 5pm or as staffing permits. If no attendant is on duty, please use the self-service station to get required passes and information. Be sure to check signage for information on road and trail closures and construction updates.

  • Park Entrance

    When an attendant is on duty, the following passes are available for purchase at the entrance station. Annual passes are available for purchase at the entrance station during the weekdays ONLY. If you need to purchase an annual pass on the weekend you will be directed to the Visitor Center. ​

    1) Annual: $80 (annuals are only available for purchase at the Visitor Center on weekends)

    2) Multiple Annual: $40

    3) Aspen Annual: $70 (Must be a Colorado Resident and 64 years of age or older)

    4) Aspen Multiple: $35 (Must be a Colorado Resident and 64 years of age or older)

    5) Daily Vehicle Pass: $10

    6) Individual Bike In/Walk In Pass: $4 (per person)

  • Road Conditions

    The park road is currently open and clear. Be watchful for potholes and pedestrians. During the winter, icy or snow-packed conditions may persist, and four-wheel drive is recommended.

  • Trails

    All trails are open, but with unpredictable Colorado weather you should be prepared for changing conditions. Take plenty of layers, water, snacks, and sunscreen along with you!
