Mueller is in a controlled hunting environment. IN 2023 ALL HUNTING IS PROHIBITED BETWEEN MAY 26th AND SEPTEMBER 4th, 2023.
HUNTERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING PARK HUNTING RULES AND BOUNDARIES.
Mueller State Park offers 800+ acres of hunting area within its western portion, part of which is adjacent to Dome Rock State Wildlife Area. Opportunities for hunting include Mule Deer, Elk, Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Turkey and small game.
Both the park and Dome Rock are within Game Management Unit (GMU) 581. The park's hunting area is accessible by foot only and can only be accessed from Trail 5 (Rock Pond Trail), Trail 11 (Lost Pond Trail) and Trail 13 (Black Bear Trail). Access to hunting boundary is not permitted on any other trails.
Hunting weapons must be unloaded from the trailhead until the hunting boundary is reached. The boundary is clearly marked along those designated trails. Once the hunting boundary is reached, hunters may load their weapons and may stray from the trail to hunt.
