​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​There are several areas available for groups and/or events in the park; check out the Group Activity Areas Brochure and/or contact the park at 970-626-5822 for more detailed information about these facilities. 

Please note: a valid park pass is required on all vehicles entering the park. Park pass fees are in addition to the rental fees for the Overlook, Conference Room and/or Group Event Facilities. A "Group Pass" option is available for those who would like to avoid having their event attendees incur the cost of a park pass. Staff will record vehicles as they enter for your event, and payment for the total number of passes can be made at the end of the event. ​

Group Event Facilities (Reservations Only)

The Group Event Facilities (GEF), located alongside the Uncompahgre River, offer an ideal setting to celebrate weddings, family​ reunions, company picnics and parties of all kinds. The GEF includes two shelters of slightly different sizes; Shelter "A" can accommodate up to 150 people and Shelter "B" accommodates​ up to 100. You may choose to reserve both shelters to accommodate 250 people. Both shelters include restrooms, charcoal grills, electrical outlets, sinks and picnic tables. The shelters share horseshoe pits, a playground and a sand volleyball court. For a single shelter, rates are $135 per day Monday-Thursday and $200 per day Friday-Sunday & Holidays. For both shelters, rates are $270 per day Monday-Thursday and $400 per day Friday-Sunday & Holidays. ​Hours are 9am to 9pm.

Please note: the first shelter reserved on any given day is granted the GEF Plaza, at no additional cost, which includes the raised stage and common area between the two shelters. If you are interested in utilizing the Plaza, please be sure to designate that on your reservation form. Also note: Shelter "A" and Shelter "B" are approximately 50 feet apart; often both shelters (and consequently the Plaza) are reserved for private events such as a wedding.

    • Please note, there can only be one reservation per shelter, per day; dates are unavailable when marked RESERVED, PARK EVENT or UNAVAILABLE. 
  • Once you've identified your desired date(s) as available, please complete the reservation form
  • Submit the completed reservation form to:               dnr_ridgway.reservations@state.co.us 
    • List "GEF Reservation" in the subject line. 
  • ​Your reservation will be confirmed with you via email once full payment is received and processed.
    • ​Reservations will be processed on a first-received basis.

Group Picnicking Areas (Campers Only)

There are two Group Picnic Areas located within the campgrounds for large camping groups to gather. Please find more information on the Group Picnic Areas page. 

Note: Only campers are allowed in the campground Group Picnic Areas.

Visitor Center Overlook

An inspirational setting for weddings or other ceremonies for up to 100 people. Rental includes 4 hour access to changing room space (conference room) and ranger parking assistance. Rates are $200 per day Monday-Thursday and $250 per day Friday-Sunday & Holidays.

Note: There is no​ backup location ​​for events planned on the Overlook. In the event of inclement weather during your rented time slot, it is up to you whether or not to proceed as planned. Receptions cannot be held at this location.

Conference Room

The conference room is an ideal location for groups of up to 40 people to hold meetings, seminars and training programs. Hours are 8-4:30.  The room includes: chairs, folding tables and audio-visual equipment (laptop, digital projector, whiteboard, flipchart) and a small kitchen area. Rate is $100 per day. 

Note: Government agencies and non-profit organizations should contact the park at 970-626-5822 for special rates.​
