IMPORTANT BOAT RAMP/INSPECTION HOURS UPDATE
Due to staffing limitations related to COVID-19 as well as the continued high water impacting ramp access, we have had to make adjustments to our originally posted 2020 ramp and decontamination hours.
Right now, only the North Ramp is open. The South Ramp remains closed due to high water.
- North Ramp/Inspections open 6am to 7pm.
- Decon: open 8 am to 4 pm.
Starting April 1:
It is our goal to open the South Ramp and go to normal summer hours for inspections and decontaminations on April 18, though most dates and times are subject to change. We will post updated information, dates and hours as they are determined.
- North Ramp/Inspections open 6am to 8 pm.
- Decon: open 8am to 4pm.
Visit the Boat Inspections page for additional information and the annual calendar of ramp and decontamination hours.
Boats may only launch or load during ramp/inspection hours. Boats may stay on the lake 24 hours a day with proper lights, but they may only launch or load during ramp/ inspection hours. The gates to the ramps are closed and no access is allowed when stations are not open
Winter Weather Closure Procedure
In an effort to standardize our response and to ensure everyone's safety when winter weather conditions are present at the ramp, we follow the following protocols:
Weekdays (Mon-Thurs): If the schools in Pueblo West District 70 are closed due to bad weather, the inspection stations will also be closed. If the schools are on a two hour delay, our inspection stations will open at 9 am.
The information regarding school closings in D70 is widely reported on local television and radio stations. Closing notices are also available at www.district70.org. This applies to the Pueblo West schools in District 70 and not the mountain schools.
Weekends (Fri-Sun): If snow and icy conditions exist, it is likely that we will be on, at least, a delayed opening of 9 am. To confirm this before 9 am, please call the non-emergent CSP dispatch number: 719-544-2424 for ramp details. After 9 am, please call our Visitor Center at 719-561-9320 for the information.
As always, inspection stations may be closed early due to adverse weather conditions that arise during the day or other unexpected circumstances.
