  • Boat Ramps

     ​The reservoir is currently CLOSED to boating. The North and South Ramps will re-open in Spring 2019.

    NOTE: Due to construction, please check ​​Chatfield Reallocation​, as many of the trails are closed until sometime late Spring of 2019. The Mary Carter Greenway Trail has intermittent closures for 18 months starting July 2017.

    Please share the trail with other users and obey all traffic laws.​

  • Campgrounds

    ​Check conditions page for current information. Modern camping on 197 sites, all with electrical hook-ups and 145 with full hookups. Reservations can be made 3 days to 6 months in advance by calling 1-800-244-5613 or reserving online.​

    ​Group camping reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance by calling 1-800-244-5613.​

    The campground (C-loop only) is open through the winter (no water at the sites). Group Loop camping is also available during the winter, however, the group loop bathrooms are not open at that time. D-loop bathroom is open year-round.

    *Please note Check-in time for all campsites is 1pm.

    The perimeter road from Jamison to the Heronry, including Kingfisher & the Gravel Ponds, will be closed beginning October 1st. This area is anticipated to re-open in the Spring of 2019. There will be no through traffic in the park. All campers must us the east entrance at 11500 N. Roxborough Park Road off of Titan Road. All DOLA  & North Boat Ramp traffic must use the west entrance from Wadsworth.​

  • Group Campground

    ​Chatfield has ten group camp areas that may be reserved by calling 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made a max of 6 months in advance. For additional information, visit the Camping page​. Also check the Park's home page for any fire restrictions.

  • Group Picnic Area

    ​There are four reservable Group Picnic Areas throughout the park. These areas are extremely popular, and typically need a reservation made way in advance of your event. Reservations can be made up to 6 months prior to your event. For more information please call the Park Office at (303)791-7275, or check out the Picnicking link under "Park Activities" on the Chatfield homepage. For reservations please call, 1-800-244-5613. ​

    Fox Run, Marina Point, and Riverside are currently closed for construction. Visit the construction link on our Home page for construction schedule updates.

  • Marina

    ​Due to construction the Marina is now closed for the 2018 season. Anticipated re-opening is late Spring of 2019. Please visit the construction link on our Home page for updates.
    Chatfield has a full-service marina offering slip rentals, boat rentals, boat storage and grill.  Please contact the Marina for information at 303-791-5555 or check their website at: www.chatfieldmarina.com.​  Services available seasonally.

  • Model Airplane Field

    Chatfield provides paved runways, frequency posts and field regulations for radio-controlled aircraft in an area south of the campgrounds. See Chatfield's "Park Activities" page​ for more information and regulations.
    ​Note: Beginning October 1, 2018 until late Spring, the model air field will only be accessible from the east entrance of the park.

  • Park Office

    ​Beginning October 1, 2018 until late Spring 2019, the park office is only accessible by entering the park at 11500 N. Roxborough Park Road from Titan Road on the east side of the park.

    Chatfield State Park office is located inside the park on the east side, toward the middle of the reservoir, between the Heronry Picnic Area and the campground. 

    The office hours are: Mon.- Friday, except state holidays, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 
    Extended summer hours (May 1-Sept 30): Saturday, Sunday, and summer holidays, 9a.m. to 3p.m.

    The Park Office does close from approximately 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. for lunch.

  • Picnic Sites

    There are multiple picnic areas located throughout the park that are available on a first come, first serve basis. You are welcome to use those sites any day of the year from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Please remeber to pick up and dispose of your trash appropriatly and if you use a grill the coals need to be cold before you dispose of them or leave them unattended.

    Colorado is experiencing an extreme drought. Use extreme caution if you choose to grill or have a fire in the fire rings. Rules:

    • ​​fires must be attended by an adult at all times and flames cannot exceed 4 feet from the ground of the fire ring
    • Fires must​ be dead/cold to the touch before you leave the site​​

  • Showers

    Showers are located in the campground and seasonally at the swim beach. The cost is 50 cents for the first 3 minutes and 25 cents for each additional minute. The use of these facilities are for park guests only.

  • Stables or Corrals

    Chatfield Stables www.chatfieldstables.com​ is the horseback-riding concessionaire at Chatfield. Call 303-933-3636 or email chatfieldstables@yahoo.com for rates, hours and other information.
    ​As of October 1, 2018, the stables will only be accessible from the west entrance to the park off of Wadsworth.

  • Swim Beach

    The Swimbeach is closed for the 2018 due to construction please visit Chatfield Reallocation Project​ for the most up to date information on when the Swimbeach will open for the 2019 season.​

  • Trails

    A series of over 26 miles of trails winds through the Chatfield area and provides the park visitor with an abundance of recreational opportunities. Please observe all caution signs. For more information. please visit the "Trails" page.
    NOTE: Due to construction, please check ​​Chatfield Reallocation​, as many of the trails are closed until sometime late Spring of 2019. The Mary Carter Greenway Trail has intermittent closures for 18 months starting July 2017, for the expansion of C470 (this is a CDOT project).
